Indy Rekordz label was formely started in 2006 by Reset frontman Phil Jolicoeur who replaced Pierre Bouvier upon his departure. The label was instated as a independently operated punk rock & metal label in effort to support and promote artists with fair and equitable profit sharing margins along with the skill, knowledge, and needs of both fans and artists in the punk rock and metal scene. Indy was in operation from 2006 - 2013 before Phil put the label into hiatus following the downturn of the market crash that began in 2008 and continued onwards for years ahead.

Jumping forward into 2023 and post-pandemic that had also ravaged the markets. Things eventually all changed when Phil's longtime friend and musical colleague J.Ridge (also known as current Canadian Alternative Country Rock singer Jasen Ridge and guitarist of 90's punk rock outfit Unemployed as Jay Daoust prior to his name change). Jay joined Reset in 2023 and suggested that Indy Rekordz be revived once again. He would come into the label as partner and offer the support of his current artist merch label (Polaris Merch Co.) along with his skillset in e-commerce development and server management & operations to professionally contribute to the label resurgence.
